Then visited The Hen and Chickens and other small venues.

………………………………………………………………………..

Witches & Bitches…and a Couple of Good Girls Too. Its a witty, cynical comic revue with loads of well known, and not so well known songs, and brand new sketches. Three sophisticated and very attractive ladies take to the stage and entertain the audience with their tongues in their cheeks, the occasional witches hat on their head and the odd feather bower. From rich bitches in sequin dresses to haggard witches in ragged stitches!

This is an ongoing production and can feature 2 or 3 actresses.   Great for cabaret and small venues.

Our Published Play – The Hound of the Baskervilles

2018 Now we are making it into an atmospheric musical!
Our adaptation of The Hound of the Baskervilles is now in print. Buy it online on amazon or from the publishers website

The play was specially dramatised by Claire Malcomson straight from the book and is suitable for all aged 8+. Whilst being as true to the book as possible the production is atmospheric and fast paced. We opened at The Festival Theatre Hever Castle on May 23rd 2013 and did a small tour, including The Mill Studio at Guildford’s Yvonne Arnaud Theatre.

A History of ESR
In 2002 as a result of bringing in so many of the public into The Leatherhead Theatre through our Performing Arts School we were in the wonderful position of being allowed to start our Professional Theatre Company.

We were thrilled and quickly set to work organising and gathering a strong selection of actors both established and new to the theatre. Contacts were made and thorough auditions began. Our first productions were a huge success. We chose them very carefully to catch the eye of the audience who had visited the old Thorndike Theatre regularly some 7 years before as the theatre had been dark for all that time.

The Importance of Being Earnest was done in full costume but with a minimal set, strong and funny actors and was extremely well received. We put this with a play version of the Hound of the Baskervilles which had an unexpected twist at the end, nothing like the film. The set was grand and, with the backing of antique shops in Dorking, furnished and dressed very expensively.

The next challenge was to get the audience back. They were thrilled with our versions of Aykbourn’s Confusions, and Bedroom Farce. We produced a brand new musical version of The Selfish Giant and a quaint version of Arsenic and Old Lace.

The first pantomime to be put on at the Leatherhead Theatre (previously known as the Thorndike ) for roughly 8 years was Cinderella. Local schools, other children and adults joined in the noise and spectacle. Heckles were thrown across the auditorium where pigeons had nested for the bleak 7 years of darkness! ‘Stage Right’ had finally arrived.

The following year Dick Whittington and his cat arrived on stage.

Other productions include Alice in Wonderland. Noel Coward’s Tonight at 8.30 and The Land Behind the Couch.

Enter Stage Right Productions is now searching for more eclectic pieces to perform. We believe productions maybe small but have a very high standard of acting. We hope to use mature actors as well as give young actors starting out a chance to shine. Whist entertaining our audiences we like to make them think by performing thought provoking material. Here’s to the future.

Please see the new pages on this site for examples of our previous productions.
